Emmanuel Macron spoke after a meeting on Ukraine in Paris brought together over 20 European heads of state and government and other Western officials in Paris.

“There’s no consensus today to send in an official manner troops on the ground. But in terms of dynamics, nothing can be ruled out,” Macron said.

Frankly his declarations are shameful. There was absolutely no debate in France about wether we should go to war with Russia or not, it looks like he just decided it might be a good idea and announced it, without thinking about the consequences. This is the kind of thing you do when you run a startup, not a country.

All this because Republicans in the US don’t like that sending arms to Ukraine makes Biden look good to the general public.

It’s a smokescreen to divert from his lacking support so far. Remember when someone posted the top 10 supporters of military and non-military aid on Europe recently? France didn’t even make it on that list.

French troops are actually already on the ground though. Recently it’s been discovered that France sent a radio-electronic warfare hardware to Ukraine that’s operating near the front lines. With the troops that are operating it. Although not officially French but some French foreign legions troops assigned for this mission, so totally not French. Just troops that you can buy in a troop shop.

People have been throwing around the “the French support is covert” thingy around since the start of this war. I don’t see it. Those Caesars weren’t delivered silently at all.

Even covert support costs money. French is broke af and may not even fulfill their publicized commitments. For a country seeing itself as one of the major military players in Europe, they’re slacking a lot on this one.
