It’s an opportunity to inspire more people to consider a career that changes lives and strengthens communities.
Social workers play a crucial role in improving people’s lives, ensuring the well-being of those who need it most. From protecting vulnerable children and adults to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, social work is a profession that is both demanding and deeply fulfilling. Whether helping a family navigate difficult circumstances or empowering someone to live independently, social workers make a lasting difference every day.
We are committed to supporting and developing social workers so they can achieve exceptional results. Our dedication to professional growth and excellence has been recognised nationally. Last year, three of our colleagues received prestigious awards for their outstanding contributions to social work:
-
Ray Halford, Senior Social Work & Social Care Workforce Development Manager, received an Honorary Fellowship award from the University of Bedfordshire.
-
Elizabeth Badu won the Newly Qualified Adult Social Worker of the Year award.
-
Holly Shreeves received the Newly Qualified Children’s Social Worker of the Year award.
Both Elizabeth and Holly started in support roles with us before receiving training to become fully qualified social workers, showcasing our commitment to career progression and professional development.

Safeguarding children is at the heart of everything we do. Social Workers provide an essential role in ensuring that children grow up in a safe and supportive environment, working closely with families to provide the help they need. Social workers are vital in protecting vulnerable children and ensuring they can thrive. It’s a challenging yet incredibly rewarding career, and I encourage anyone passionate about making a difference to consider joining the profession.
