It took me a while to realize they’re banning anonymous cryptocurrency payments, nothing to do with cash.

Oh. Lemmy UI didn’t clue me in to that thumbnail being big enough to read.

It’s interesting the party is worried about big cash payments specifically.

Banning the use of ridiculously large cash payments doesn’t seem too bad imo.

Honestly who (except criminals) regularly use large amounts of cash and especially in one purchase?

In my country some of the huge luxury stores “had” (due to public pressure) to ban cash because the only ones that are buying luxury products using cash are criminals.

@lud @helenslunch Just because most idiots only use cards these days, it doesn’t mean that only criminals use large amounts of cash.

I only use cash, to prevent the CBDC scams from ever implementing. I also use large amounts. Need to pay rent, buy a car, borrow money to family and friends etc

It seems to me that the EU is aiming for full control over the movement of money by introducing restrictions where no payment of 1-2k euros will go unnoticed.

That’s why I believe the future belongs to cryptocurrencies, especially those that support transaction anonymity.

“your MEP” is paid for and/or compromised and will do anything they are told by their owners, don’t waste your time. Put your energy towards building a world they cannot control with fake counterfeit money and threats of violence.

And how do you propose we do that?

Maybe we could have separate small territories with their own laws. We could call them countries.

@lud decentralizing the financial system is basically the first step. Then slowly you decentralize most of the social system components: education, sick care, transport, food chain etc. At the end you replace the political law with natural law. Everything will be based on rights.

@lud decentralized governance doesn’t mean there won’t be any governance at all. There will still be policing, taxes and social services. The difference is that in governing process we will all participate, not only a herd of politicians which decide the fate of everyone else.

Take example the Monero system. When there is a network upgrade it can be proposed by anyone on the forum and if everyone agrees it will get implemented. if there are disagreements they will be put on the table.

                  So it’s like a normal government…

The reason we have politicians is because normal people don’t have the time to spend all their time worrying about politics and decisions. So we delegate the power to a smaller group of people.

Some countries delegate more and some less power (like with direct democracy like Switzerland has) but it’s essentially the same.

So, Europe limiting people’s freedom, even more. Why am I not surprised? Use Monero and build the circular economy. Give the middle finger to these clowns. People in the US need to do the same thing because we are headed down the same path. That’s why I always suggest if you have Monero not turning it back into Fiat ever.
