New in F-Droid. Happy to see this. In the past I used Noice but then Noice wanted Internet access and I stopped using it. It comes with Anti-Features warning. Soothing on the other hand requires very little permissions.

Thank you for sharing this 🙏

I’ve been using Noice too, but I’m totally switching to this

Sigh. I wanted to like this, but it doesn’t work on my galaxy s23. It crashes immediately upon opening. I uninstalled and reinstalled, no use. Sometimes after the crash I get the popup notification saying “Something went wrong with Soothing Noise Player. Soothing Noise Player closed because this app has a bug. Try updating this app after its developer provides a fix for this error.”

Eh not as good as fdroid as you have to completely trust the dev, don’t know if there are any anti features, doesn’t know if something is slipped in the updates etc . Unless of course you go through every codebase you use.

Very cool! When I was trying to find one to get the baby to sleep better there were either only very expensive or ones full of ads with sounds. So now I can delete the propriatary one. Thanks for posting the link.

Sometimes I go through fdroid to see what is available but I never saw this one.

I’m probably really stupid, I only just realised now when you juxtaposed those two websites, that the F in F-Droid stands for FOSS (or maybe just free)

If you’re ever looking for a portable sound machine that is small and good for travel but also not on a smart device, I highly recommend this one. I got one of these for my first kid and it lasted for 4 years and many trips. The battery died after that due to overcharging but it was very useful for one setting. Got another when the second was born and they both still listen to theirs.
