That looks amazing! How did you cook the chickpeas and potatoes?
Thanks! I always do the same thing, I take 1 cup beans (in this case chickpeas) dry and 3 cups water and pressure cook them for 1 hour and let it natural release. I then put the instant pot into saute mode for 30 minutes on low and add stuff and let it simmer til done. This time I added carrots, celery, onions, red pepper paste, tomato paste, italian seasoning, nutritional yeast and chopped cooked potatoes. I served with rice.
going to try this thanks!
That sounds awesome! I might try it this weekend!
Reminds me of aloo gobi.
Gobi means cauliflower tho lol, this is chana aloo
That’s why I said ‘reminds me of’ then posted a recipe with cauliflower.
Except that literally just means potato cauliflower and this isn’t even a masala gravy/curry based on the description I wrote on this exact page. I get it though you don’t know anything about Indian food or Hindi. It doesn’t remind me of Aloo Gobi at all except that it contains some Aloo but none of the other ingredients.
When people post pics like this with the rice separate from the rest of the dish, is that just for the pic? Because if I’m having rice with anything remotely saucy, you better believe it’s all getting mixed up.
BTW, that looks tasty!
I mean this is obvious to me, of course we mix the food as it is eaten. It is so strange how many times I’ve been asked this.
I don’t mix my rice in 🤷♀️
