Spain and Ireland are set to push ahead with an initiative to recognize a Palestinian state. Other EU members and European countries may also provide their backing.

    Spain is a particularly interesting one. They’re not normally too keen on recognising any sort of breakaway region so as not to legitimise the Catalan independence movement. Take a look at a map of recognition of Kosovo for an example. Not that I’m complaining by any means; it’s a welcome surprise

      Palestine was never formally subjugated by Tue state of Israel, Israel just has a strong presence to impose de facto control which appears to be rather offending to certain peoples’ sesenbilities.
