To preface: I hate the fuck put of both stores for the bigotry they fund, and I never spend money at either place.

That being said, I wonder if you’ve considered who will be responsible for unclogging those toilets. It won’t be the executives who are responsible for it. It will be a young person who may not agree with the bigotry the company funds but works there because they have bills to pay like the rest of us.

I’ve just been avoiding both places for nearly two decades, but you do you.

No no no…you’re doing it all wrong.

You still use the chick-fil-a napkins to actually clog it. BUT!!! Then you drop like 16 bibles on top of it to fill the toilet bowl to block access to the napkins blocking. They won’t move the bibles because this clogged toilet is now “Gods work”. Which will then cause ALL OF THEM to start intentionally clogging their own toilets with bibles, and make a political issue out of this. Anyone who doesn’t clog their own toilets at home isn’t a REAL American!

And this is the life we live now. I just said some batshit crazy bullshit, which SHOULD BE taken as being completely absurd, but life is now absurd. So it’s entirely possible that what I said actually is the natural logical set of proceeding events to follow.

God damn I hate 2024. Actually, life since 9/11 hasn’t been all that great. Can we go back to having a normal life ever??? PLEASE???

We live in “The Onion” now! Aliens will never visit our planet because of this.

it’s worth noting that CFA stopped donating to queerphobic organizations awhile back, has a DEI department now, and is one of the few fast food chains not on the BDS boycott list for Palestine. like I get that hating on 'em is a meme but they have good fries and are less problematic than half the other fast food chains at this point…

      Edit: More context!

Hobby Lobby is a large chain of huge arts and crafts stores, mainly. They mostly sell a whole bunch of obnoxious Live Laugh Love signs, candles, other stupid kitschy crap that stereotypically adorn middle aged overweight christian wive’s homes.

If memory serves, in many states they made it so their company provided healthcare plan does not cover abortions and other healthcare related to women’s reproductive/sexual health, like contraception.

And that was before the Supreme Court ruling a few years back overturning Roe v Wade.

Beyond that, they are rather notorious for being led by evangelical christians.

Now normally you think that means great, can’t get hired if you have a tattoo or piercing or colored hair or are gender nonconforming.

In hobby lobby’s case, basically yes, and, also they paid to smuggle thousands of ancient cuneiform tablets out of Iraq.

Not long after the 2003 invasion, Baghdad’s main museum was ransacked, and some years later, hobby lobby higher ups (family owned business hyuck hyuck) paid for them to be shipped to Turkiye, where they were discovered with false documentation.

Apparently they wanted them for their private collection, though with that many, you’d need a small museum… literally criminal cultural appropriation.

They went all the way to the supreme court to get a ruling that the company itself has religious beliefs against contraception and must be allowed to force them on its employees by not covering it in their healthcare plans as otherwise required by law.
