High earning emgineer types live on an ideological subculture that is, more or less, petty bourgeois. They feel they, as workers, have more in common with the CEO than the janitors. Sometimes that is true but it’s usually false. They are simply paid well due to being in high demand and will all eventually learn how little respect and power they have in these places.
Left orgs should be there agitating because in lieu of that the disillusionment often leads to adopting far right false consciousness.
It’s late at night, I’m pretty tired, doom scrolling in bed like ya do. Hover on this image for a moment, read the title, and look at the first entry. Think, “wow! Inuits are wildly pro union, good for them!”
I see some of the shittier names are further up. There’s a lot of names there I wouldn’t apply to, but if they have a union… that could change the equation significantly.
Sometimes the reason unionization is popular is because the employer is just that bad. There’s a saying that how’s, “the employer is the best union organizer”.
