I made a gunslinging armorer artificer kobold that wore a mech suit, allowing her to wield a gun. When I shot the gun outside the suit, she would comically get pushed backwards.
Very fun character.
I would really like to commission that one artist that does the WWI kobolds to do a piece with 3 kobolds running a vintage SMG as if it were a crew served weapon. (But sadly they won’t return my emails)
Also crew served weapons are better for teams. One kobold carries the base plate/legs. One kobold carries the weapon. The final kobold carries the ammo.
What I’m getting out of this is that Kobolds are like Skaven and should be given gatling guns, flamethrowers, nukes, and mad scientist maniacal laughter.
what you’re describing there sounds like pathfinder’s goblins
Kobold Mortar Team would be the best name for a D&D themed metal band
A crew served weapon also takes advantage of the Kobolds’ Pack Tactics feature, giving them advantage on every attack (or at the very least one of the crew is always taking the Help action for the same effect).
I mean kobolds are really weak but delicious, which is why they use slings. But they’re also great working as a team so it might work.
