  • I do give a fuck.

I give a fuck about creating a welcoming safe space on this instance.

I give a fuck that we act with integrity and fairness.

I don’t give a fuck that it hurts your feelings to be called out, nor do I have time to respond to emails that are just more justifications of your transphobia.

We issued a temp ban as a warning. Instead you harass my admin team and bad mouth admins from other instances, while continuing to try and justify yourself.

I suggest you find another instance that will accept your behaviour, because its not welcome here.

  • We’ve had an chat internally and decided that we’d be happy with a community that separates HP from JKR as long as it was properly moderated in line with its purpose.

The suggestion allows for a community on another instance where JKR could be discussed in relation to HP. The merits of such a community are obvious, however we don’t agree that the subject matters can’t be discussed separately, if there was a demand for that community to exist.

So, we would be happy with a community to specifically discuss HP, if such a community was to be opened.

  • Hey, so better is more of an objective term - piefed offers a more comprehensive moderation experience for admins and mods, and addresses some of the issues that users raise around multiple communities and account settings etc.

Piefed runs on activitypub just like lemmy does, so are compatible with eachother - you probably already see piefed users and communities in your lemmy feed.

I wouldn’t say there is an argument either way from a user perspective- I’d encourage people to try both and see what they like.

There are no front ends yet that work with piefed (like tesseract or photon) but they’re being worked on. There’s also only a few apps, but similarly these are being worked on too, so before long you can probably interact with either software through an app.

Lemmy was the first and so is the most popular, and I hope the devs are able to bring some of the moderation features over to lemmy too, as it is quite a limited experience in comparison to many fediverse softwares.

Hope that helps, but tldr try both and see which one you like, they can interact with eachother anyway, I.e. https://piefed.zip/c/home can be interacted with via https://lemmy.zip/c/[email protected]
