Separate things, just the same admin I guess. You can follow the same communities from either one.

I have a Mastodon account and I haven’t sorted out any way to post on/read lemmy content with it

On Mastodon, follow the account for this community, just Mastodon uses @ instead of ! so it’s @fediverse@lemmy.world and you can post to the community by mentioning it

You can paste URLs of Lemmy posts/comments into the search bar of Mastodon to pull it up. Just make sure you use the real URL and not a mirror, so you need to get the URL from Lemmy’s Fediverse icon it has on every post/comment

I think you misunderstood, ada was suggesting using a different server than lemmy.world in order to spread out the load better

I am not convinced it is ready to have a large influx of activity

this community is not what I would call a large amount of activity

than it is growing right now

it’s not really growing though, if you look at MAU it’s shrinking

we had a big bump at the end of March but we’ve been shrinking since then

I think the software should start hiding/marking them in some way

I don’t expect they will all be deleted, and I don’t even think it would be good to delete them because there could be a chance they start getting activity

I think we’re fine with just calling the entire genre “retro” even for new games lol.

Piefed’s migration feature is kinda cool but it doesn’t seem complete to me, like it can import the old posts but Lemmy users won’t see them anyways so for most users the import has no effect. We’re better off just reposting the good stuff manually.
