  • They want the kind of higher education that gave legacy admissions and gentleman’s C’s.

And while they are motivated by racism as well as class prejudice, they also hate poor white people gaining class mobility. Actual meritocracy makes the dimwitted offspring of the upper class look as dimwitted as they are. I’m a working-class white guy who went to an elite university on a full scholarship-- the dolts with surnames for first names assumed I was a preppie like them, since I was literate and did well in my classes. Most of them weren’t and didn’t.

After seeing what the privileged classes are like, it’s a miracle I didn’t become a bolshevik.

  • My dad drove until he was 88. He was an excellent driver and never had any tickets or caused any problems for others.

My mom quit driving in her early 80s because she didn’t like driving and could afford to take Lyft when she needed to go somewhere.

So I’d say it depends on the person. Having said that, I’m all in favor of more frequent testing for older drivers. When things go wrong, they can go wrong quickly. And I wouldn’t trust Trump to know how to operate a paper bag, let alone a car.
