A. The shirt itself goes very hard.

B. Usually I roll my eyes when people talk about the whole “Alpha/Beta Energy” BS, but this actually has me rethinking that entire POV. Sometimes just being brave enough to be yourself, whether it’s in the deep south or anywhere else, takes a lot of balls. ❤️

Srsly wrt the south comment. Even there. Nawlins is the only place I’ve ever been physically assaulted for being a Jew (and somehow this blacked out Nazi just smelled it from the down the block and came at me out of the blue)

Leaving the coasts somehow sets you up for experiencing overt antisemitism. In Arizona, I was genuinely asked if matzo contains the blood of Christian children and I was expected to pay most of the time since “He’s a Jew, he’s got plenty”. In NOLA I was asked to leave a bar by patrons with swastika tattoos. In Colorado, at a conference (they were from NC, I picked up a “fan” who wanted to shout Nazi slogans and do the salute around me after they overheard me speaking Yiddish.

I’m so sorry you were attacked in NOLA, it’s absurd that we have to put up with this shit. I truly hope we can be free from this stupidity one day.

      America is fucked up.

My friend moved to Scottsdale almost 20 yrs ago. Had to give ID for something (buying booze?)

Saw her last name and refused service

Sorry you went through all that too. Yeah, this place didn’t change. They all learned their place for a quick minute. They need to be reminded again.

Yeesh, I’m sorry dude, that’s awful. I hope you pressed charges.

I don’t get why some people have to be such lame ass pieces of shit. Imagine you’re drunk and surrounded by music and people just having fun, enjoying themselves and trying to mind their own business, but you just can’t pass up an opportunity to be an antisemitic scumbag.

Imagine an overweight middle aged man wearing a shirt that says “moustache rides: $5”.

    Yea, not exactly alpha, huh?

‘Lesbians wearing shirts about sex during Pride month are just like straight dudes wearing shirts about sex any time’ is incredibly kneejerk and poorly reasoned, you can do better than this.

Gotta disagree with you in this particular case. Living here I see a lot of novelty sex shirts 24/7/365. Constant parties and groups of bachelor or bachelorettes. I usually don’t think twice about it.

I have to give points for:

        A. Originality. I’ve seen ‘I <3 milfs’ a million times before, but can’t recall ever seeing this one. I imagine if Kenny Powers opened up a novelty T-shirts store in Daytona Beach, he would sell this shirt and attempt to trademark it.

        B. Unexpectedness. When I first saw this, I was scrolling through several other pictures and hit this one. It was like rounding a corner and being taken by complete surprise. The randomness of the shirt combined with the person wearing it, and the look on her face, elicited a genuine “Guffaw,” followed by me simply holding up my phone in response to the group of people I was with asking “What?”

It simply would have been too difficult to convey the complexity of the image into words, and all 6 people had a similar speechless reaction.

        C. Rather than simply making a statement, it encourages one to really stop and think.

The comment seems to be saying they could do better? I sincerely believe this is one of the best novelty t-shirts I have ever seen. I guess I’m maybe looking at this from a different POV?

Idk if you’ve heard of Krewe du Vieux Carré? Usually just called Krewe du Vieux, or sometimes just affectionately called Krude. It’s a Mardi gras Krewe that has a parade every year through the FQ. The point is supposed to be over the top adult humor, and that vibe has always been extended to the quarter in general, especially other neighborhood parades and celebrations.

I would shake my head at someone wearing something like this to the zoo or even an uptown parade, but in context this is like wearing a satirical costume.

The FQ during a parade or festival is one place where you would see a guy in a mustache rides shirt and nobody would judge/think twice bc there’s a hundred other dudes in mustache rides shirts or other crude outfits. Fewer women, but it happens occasionally if they are with a bachelorette party. I’ve seen gay dudes wearing crude shirts, but I cannot recall ever seeing a lesbian in a shirt that somehow openly conveys sexuality and captures the same level of crude. Honestly believe this is kind of a masterpiece and would like to grab drinks with this person bc they look like they would be fun AF to hang out with.

I thought the “you can do better than this” line was directed toward the commenter above them.

That is, the user Ogmios made the original comment about “Mustache rides.” Then Catoblepas said “you can do better than this” to Ogmios. You responded to Catoblepas, but it sounds like you intended to respond to Ogmios. That’s why I said it sounds like you were in agreement with the comment above yours.

      Right, but this isn’t that.

This is a pack of lesbians in the deep south, not giving a fuck about what anyone thinks, even as the country is being driven towards civil war by uptight fundamentalists who hate freedom.

They’re out to have a good time and enjoy themselves instead of looking to everyone else to see how they can judge them and insert themselves into everyone else’s business. Looks like an easy going group of freedom loving Americans with a good sense of humor.

Context matters, so pretty fucking alpha in my book 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

I mean, that was my takeaway. If everyone knows and accepts that you like pussy, then wearing a shirt that says “I ❤️ pussy” is just kinda skeevy, if not wildly inappropriate. If you’re in a place where people either deny your sexual orientation exists or don’t want your orientation to exist, then you’re a badass for being explicit about what you like, and I’m comfortable with light applause.

Why would you assume she was gay, if it wasn’t obvious from the shirt?

Edit: possible i misread, and we’re actually agreeing. Didn’t realize you weren’t the person being responded to.

Couple of them have a certain stereotype outlook. As a gay I have an eye for that.
