Yeah it’s a sketchy feature, sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. Have Shazam as a backup. Use Shazam most the time…

I didn’t even know this feature existed.
Just tested it and it seems to work normally on my Pixel 7.
Meh. P7a. Never used it, except maybe a couple days when the phone was new. I don’t let goog access my location, mike, or cam. They don’t need to have any more tracking data on me.
I get it, privacy is good and people should do what they can to feel comfortable.
But in the case of the now playing feature that’s all done on-device - which is why it tends not to recognise the obscure stuff.
I just look at the screen with my eyeballs…
