That’s a bit disingenuous to my point. The weight of vehicles being discussed in a video that mentions the weight of vehicles is on topic and not some what-about-ism like you imply.

A bit, but also your point about gross weight for trucks is way off reality. They are largely used as commuter or family vehicles, and rarely if ever loaded to capacity.

The only time these trucks make sense is when they’re being used to haul 1/2+ tons of cargo or to tow 5000+pounds of trailer. That’s going to take a big heavy vehicle, but also requires care and responsibility when operating (and actually does require licensing over 26,000lbs gross combined or 10,000lb towed weight, having towed close to that amount, I think that should be lower BTW).

But all that aside the point that the video is making about simply requiring lower grille heights to save lives is a good one, even if we should also drastically reduce the number of these trucks on the road for all the other reasons.

If you buy a vehicle that big and inefficient as a commuter family vehicle it deserves to be banned.

I’m off the opinion that they should be heavily (no pun) taxed by weight, and insurance should accordingly go way up for covering the other people they endanger.

But it seems that morons are already willing to be broke to drive these things with how inefficient they already are.
