Hey all! @[email protected] and I wanted to give a quick update on the rules, since we received a couple of questions.
We’ve tried to clarify rule 3 a bit, now it reads:
3. Don’t spoil people in a way they can’t circumvent - that means no mentions in post titles/comments outside spoiler threads for:
- comics spoilers about something that hasn’t happened in the show
- TV show spoilers if it’s been less than a week since the episode aired
As you can see we’ve shortened the time a bit to allow better discussion after new episodes, and we’ve clarified how spoilers should be hidden.
What do you guys think? Does this work for everyone, or is something unclear?
A short aside, since this is the first real “moderator” type communication we’re putting out - WOW, hard to believe how the community has grown! Already more than 150 subscribers, and almost 500 people visiting last month. Thank you all for being a part of this, and for making the moderation such an easy job. You guys are amazing, we can’t thank you enough!
Cool, thanks for the info, I like this change. It should give every enthusiast enough time to watch the most recent episode.
I assume that comic spoilers should still have the [COMIC SPOILERS] in it’s title?
No, I think the decision is good. I’m a software developer, I always see if I can develop a spoiler tag for lemmy, but the discussion around it seems very extensive, so it looks like a complicated one to make haha.
Thanks for the rule update, I like them.
Yep, if it’s about something that hasn’t happened in the TV show yet, always put that in the title (or if it’s in a comment, but it inside spoiler tags).
Awesome, happy to hear that!
