That’s not really the point. The point is it’s such a benign thing to say that it’s completely absurd to censor it.
It’s their server, and their community. They can do whatever they want. You don’t have to post there

I don’t, but unfortunately the rest of the lemmy community needs to learn that lesson still. Hence my PSA that attempts to educate others.
