Excellent, Excellent season. I really have no serious complaints about anything beyond that I wanted more Frank.

I can’t wait for the Punisher Special Presentation next year. I’m hoping it’s a direct continuation from the credit scene here. A whole show of Frank hunting down and killing fascist cops would be chef’s kiss.

I think that’s the most likely with the special presentation, just start with that exact scene. However I’d prefer if we saved the next story beat for Daredevil season 2.

The reason I want to hold back is that we know Frank can’t win during his special presentation, because we need the anti-vigilant task force for Daredevil. We also know he can’t kill the current face of the Taskforce, Officer Powell, because again we need him in season 2.

I think going back and seeing what Frank has done and been up to prior to the current season makes more sense. Maybe Frank isn’t even in New York until he hears something about the Punisher in New York. Frank can then find and defeat a whole team of knock offs, only to realize this hydra has too many heads, setting up the team up with Daredevil and others more directly.

Fisk with the mortal kombat fatality, I didn’t expect straight up gore in a Disney show.

That was a great episode. Glad we got Punisher and Karen back. My biggest takeaway from this season is that I’m excited for the next one, because there were too many issues behind the scenes for season 1 to be very good.

Episode 8 and 9 were the show that we should’ve gotten from the start. They were excellent. A different team made episodes 2-7 and they have serious pacing issues. I don’t know if Muse was written out of the show to make room for 8 & 9 or what, because his ending was unsatisfying and rushed.

Hopefully now that season 2 isn’t torn between different teams, it can be a lot more consistent.

Agree with Muse. I think that’s the most disappointing point in a strong season for me. Muse is an interesting and creepy villain, but his story ended so quickly

My personal hope is that we get to see Sacha Baron Cohen’s Mephisto next season and Muse comes back with the comic book powers.

Definitely ended strong. And that was way more gruesome than I expected (or even wanted tbh)

Can’t wait for season 2 and the Punisher special

So what does the US government do when a city declares martial law with curfews. Why aren’t any federal or state level jurisdictions interested in what’s going on

The MCU version of the US government anyway

I mean it was just declared, so they probably haven’t had a chance to take interest yet.

But… If the show takes place during the Ritson administration (Secret Invasion president) you can just say that he is a weak/shitty President and that’s why the federal government isn’t doing a lot.

But… If the show takes place during the Ross administration (Brave New World president) you can just say that the President just turned into the Red Hulk and the federal government is in disarray and that’s why the federal government isn’t doing a lot.

I expect it will come up next season, but I also guess that Fisk will have/create a generally good approval rating for himself so the New York governor will be hesitant to step in.

What a great episode. But it got me thinking about the next Spider-Man film, like how are going to address the AVTF or the martial law and the curfew?

    Solid finale in my opinion.

I can see why various YouTube channels are predicting a return of all the Defenders next season, although it’s a pipe dream.

I will say that I’m very surprised we got a mention of Ray Nadeem. That’s a sign to me that this is a fairly full continuation of the prior Daredevil series, less of a Disney bargain than I’d feared. They could easily have not named him and made allusions instead.

We didn’t need to wait for the finale to get that. It was clear from the opening of episode 1.

I mean in a war on vigilantes, the return of the Defenders makes sense. I expect us to see a new White Tiger next season. We already have Swordsman. Why not bring back some old ones?

If I only get to pick one, I pick Jessica Jones.

I think you can easily say that Luke & Claire moved away and Danny moved to some new magic realm.

But! If you’re bringing them back, bring back everyone. Not just Jessica, Luke & Danny, bring back Misty Knight and Colleen Wing and just any side character we’ve introduced. We had Endgame. We’re going to have Secret Wars. Give us the small screen version.

No, Luke was in a background ad in Times Square. He’s still around and doing what he was at the end of Luke Cage season 2.

after spending some time thinking about it, I decided it basically boils down to it made the entire season feel like it could have been a 2 hour movie and not lost anything.

          I whole heartedly disagree.

The entire season was laid out the same way they do comic book runs. There was a series of shorter story arcs which each bled one into the next and all fed into a single overarching arc that lasted through the whole season.

The 1st episode was a bridge between the Netflix series and Reborn while setting up the overall season arc.

Episodes 2-3 were the trial of White Tiger while establishing both Muse and the context for the ATVF.

Episode 4 was a bridge between the White Tiger arc and the Muse arc while furthering the ATVF story.

Episode 5 was a bottle episode, but did a LOT of world-building and is probably the single most comic booky episode of television Marvel has ever produced.

Episodes 6-7 was the Muse arc which also fully established the ATVF.

Episodes 8-9 was the culmination of the season-long arc and bringing Bullseye back into the story.

Even the season ending on a new paradigm (Fisk’s martial law and beginning the full-on war between Daredevil and Fisk) is such a comic book move.

I know they came in and had to rework the original plan for the series, but I think they did an excellent job. The only thing I’d have changed is to have more Karen and Frank.
