Given Ford’s history, and the timing of the last Ontario election, it wouldn’t be surprising if he wants to make a run for PM. That would be much easier if he could run against a Liberal in 2029.
He would have to learn French (doesn’t seem likely) and enter a FAR more competitive federal environment than the cushy job he currently has where a mostly apathetic Ontario electorate votes him in by default every few years. I just don’t see it. Going from Ontario premiere with a steady stream of majority governments to a topping out as federal opposition leader is arguably a demotion.
