There are a lot of people who’s life expectancy I’d love for to be shorter.
I mean the vague direction he’s going is, if birthrates go down, life expectency goes up, then social security as is has a finite point it can reach.
Of course that’s mainly ignoring the greatest problem with social security… is basically the cap on earnings… IE he pays the same into it as someone making 168,600. We fix that and it basically solves itself. But the reality is that’s the part he finds “intollerable”, the idea that at the rate things are going, people like him might one day have to put a negligable portion of their fortune to keep millions of senior citizens out of poverty.
Especially when you realize that he could lose 99.999% of his wealth and still have more money than a reasonable person could spend in their lifetime. Capitalism ruins the lives of billions of people so a smaller and smaller minority can hoard billions of dollars. Even if we took the time to set a cap on wealth one person can hoard, it still wouldn’t solve the issues that capitalism is making the earth uninhabitable for humans eventually and that it would still be exporting violence to less developed countries to steal their resources. Capitalism gotta go.
