    On the other hand, I don’t think a job being “non-creative” should be considered derogatory. The wheels of society are greased by bureaucrats and sanitation staff, and the total human suffering averted by a person sanitizing doorknobs or what have you is significantly greater than whatever it is that programmers and mechanical engineers are doing all day (mostly bombs and the panopticon).

      Agree.

      My job is pretty much a non-creative job. I don’t have to engage in creative problem solving as the main function of my day to day work.

      Somebody wants a book of stamps? I push buttons, take their money, hand them the change and the stamps.

      Somebody got a letter for their post office box? I stick the letter in their post office box.

      Lights off… I turn them on. Lights on… I turn them off. Unlock door, lock door, rinse and lather and repeat.
