You mean actual manufacturing? Not just design and distribution like Nvidia? That’s already been the case for a long time. The US doesn’t manufactor chips on a level any where close to global players (mostly Taiwan) but also less then China:
well maybe the wording was a bit ambiguous, but China still cannot manufacture the high-tech chips because the US has the suppliers of the machinery locked down… but China will eventually figure it out on their own and will be all the stronger for having done so, and at that point they’ll blow right past the US’s high tech sector
