I love this band. I have a whole playlist called “Fadies” (fake 80’s) with stuff like this and: Mr Kitty - After Dark, Timecop1983, FM-84, Nightstop, Gunship, and admittedly a few songs from the movie Drive.
The Midnight has so many good songs though.
Calvero and Shannon Curtis come to mind as potential fits for that playlist, if I recall the vibes right.
Saw these guys play live before the pandemic, they’re great.
