Cassian seems to also have a disbelief that he is still alive himself. His character is very “jumpy” with a "how did I survive that? " sort of feeling.

I am only on the first episode of the second season, but the amount of luck he’s had so far has kept me at the edge of my seat.

Funny you notice that. He’ll comment himself on this in a later episode. Don’t think this will spoil anything for you, just to affirm your feeling.

    spoiler

My head canon - he’s very slightly force sensitive like many others including the force healer who senses him instantly. There is a lot of this in old EU content, especially during the Republic when there were Jedi washouts all the time. Not to even mention outer rim folks the Jedi couldn’t/didn’t get to. The other best pilot in the galaxy was a Confederate guy about Anakin’s age who was also likely semi-force sensitive. I don’t think they want to go too deep into the mystical weewoo of the force in this series, which is supposed to be more relatable and grounded. But I really appreciate what appears to be a nod to those lucky few who are guided, literally, by divine providence.

      Title

I assumed the force healer just sensed the traces of luthen’s kyber crystal he used to wear around his neck, which reminded her of some jedis she met before they went extinct. And she falsely assumed he was like a Jedi or something
