Same as with trans women the trans is still an adjective, i don’t know why that would change. If you want to talk about multiple categories of trans people, you can just use trans people or something similar. If you’re talking about my example at the end there it’s because i literally am a trans woman and was talking about myself.
What about trans men and trans non-binary people?

Yoiu can say trans alone in some contexts such as “I know someone who is trans”
