Honda Canada will postpone a $15-billion Canadian (US$10.7 billion) electric vehicle investment project in Canada's most populous province, including a proposed EV battery plant and retooled vehicle assembly facility. Honda Canada spokesman Ken Chiu said Tuesday due to the recent slowdown in the EV market, Honda has announced an approximate two-year postponement of the comprehensive value chain investment project in Ontario.

    Oh no. I live near Alliston, the new EV Line has been getting hyped up here since last year when Trudeau visited the plant. I know quite a few people who are going to be devastated by this news. It was supposed to bring a lot of new jobs into the area, which we sorely need. Two years isn’t too bad of a delay, but something tells me it’ll be longer.

    Also the East side of the Plant has been under construction for the new facility for some time now. I guess we all get to stare at massive holes and piles of dirt every day for the next two years?
