Hello I m facing issues during the installation on my steam deck led 1To.

I tried multiple time using a usb to usb c adapter for my usb key and using the official dock station.

I also check using command and there is not another efi boot like in the troubleshoot guide of bazzite website.

Before it was the official SteamOS , but there was 2 versions and a big buggy (it’s why I decided to erase and install bazzite instead).

Any idea how to fix the issues ?

Regards

The following error occurred during installation. This is a fatal error and the installation will be interrupted.

The command ostree container image deploy --sysroot=/mnt/sysimage --image=/run/install/repo/bazzite-deck-stable --transport=oci --no-signature-verification exited with code 1.

they say it’s an online installer, I didn’t knew. I didn’t connect the steam deck to internet for the install (planning to do it after), I ll try this evening to connect to the wifi for the install process

I found another thread here with a similar issue: https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/issues/1016

There’s a comment at the bottom from noelmiller that says:

This issue has been plaguing us since the creation of the ISOs. We are aware of this issue and are actively working on a replacement effort for the existing install process. This is unfortunately an upstream issue with Anaconda and until we have a replacement ready, there is not a lot we can do.

Other posters in the thread have said sometimes they got it to work just by trying the process repeatedly. Problem probably isn’t you; seems like the installer just isn’t very good…

I assume you’ve probably already seen these pages – but in case not, and also for my own future reference, here are the installation and install troubleshooting pages:

The 2nd link there has a video of someone switching into terminal mode to work around a similar generic error with the installer.
