I outgrew Keith Olbermann at fifteen. Like, dude was fucking smarmy as hell, and I thought it was great at first, and then I realized it was all kind of dumb, annoying, and lacking in any meaningful substance. Then, I tried reading Glen Beck’s Clowns to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right because I didn’t yet understand the left-right spectrum or where I fit into that, nor that all of the political bestsellers at Wal-Mart were right wing slop; well I hated that shit enough that the communist manifesto was in my next three reads. I know this isn’t Olbermann, but his spirit persists in this greasy vessel.

The worst part of Olbermann is that once Trump got elected in 2016, he started talking about how Bush was actually not bad compared to Trump and I just lost all respect for him.

I mean, I get it. I’d rather be stung by a wasp than mauled by a bear, but neither would be best. But I really always kind of had the impression that Olbermann’s ideal leftist was probably Hillary Clinton.

In 2017 (and 2018?) Olbermann had anti-Trump vids on GQ’s Youtube channel. I thought they were comedy gold. I have no idea what I’d think of them now. Here’s a classic one. Bill O’Reilly’s Downfall (And Trump’s, Too?) | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann. He begins by saying:

The firing of Bill O’Reilly was presidential impeachment by proxy…

At some point (Late 2017? Early 2018?) Olbermann’s vids to a sudden halt. Trump’s invincibility broke his brain. On social media he retreated from politics. All he posted was sports and rescue dog stuff. Eventually - he got back to politics. Trump’s second presidency broke his brain even more. A week or so go he was ranting that he was pretty sure Stephen Miller was going to charged with contempt. I didn’t watch the vid. I assumed it was going to be sad and pathetic but not funny.

      -–

I haven’t watched the Bill O’Reilly vid in years. What the hell - I’ll watch it right now.
