The Soviet Union was a union of multiple nations. It wasn’t just Russia. It’s also disingenuous to label the GOP as “pro communist”. Anything remotely left of the moderate right, the GOP labels as “communist evil!”.
The GOP is the pro fascist party. The communists directly fought fascists in WW2. There should be a swastika or a dollar sign in the logo, since that’s what they actually support.
The moderate right-wingers are short-sighted, they don’t understand the benefits of full-blown fascism (or they are afraid they are going to be left behind)
