Okay why is “not running in the general if you lose” not a requirement of running in the primary? That seems like a pretty obvious provision that should be in every political party’s rules for participating in their primary.
Like, completely disregarding the views of a political party, this seems like a clear administrative rule that any party with primary elections should do.
The only reason not to do that is if you’re doing “You must be a dues paying member of our party to run, and if you run in an election as anything else you are banned from the party”
