Which is kinda stupid imo. If you want more people to try and buy your game, you should at least put it on sale once a year.

I have to imagine once it ages a bit more they’ll bring the regular price down. But as many fans say, it’s really a fair price for what the game is.

They’ve sold between 5 and 8 million copies of that game to date.

I think they’re doing fine without needing a sale and devaluing their product.

Or you can simply cough up the money and pay for one of the best games ever made?

Or we can be upset that some devs never put their games on sale when tons of others do. I don’t care if it’s considered “the best game ever made” by gamers who are already fans of factory-type games, that argument doesn’t hold any water for someone who’s a fan of other genres like RPGs or shooters.

Also, their “reasoning” that it’s unfair to people who paid full price is bullshit and you know it. Tainted Grail had its full release last month, along with a price increase, but the game had gone on sale multiple times between the EA and full releases. Abiotic Factor is doing the exact same thing, and also had sales in between the EA release and full game. There’s no real reason that it shouldn’t go on sale at least once a year or something. If you miss a sale, that’s on you.

Iirc the creators said they’ll never put it on sale because that’s unfair to people who paid the full price. The price is the price for Factorio.

Gamers will use anything to justify the price for their favorite games.

I’m not saying it’s a bad game or anything, I’ve never actually played it as it doesn’t really look like my type of game, but the “reasoning” that they’ll never put it on sale because it’s “unfair” to people who paid full price is stupid.

I don’t think it goes on sale, at least not for any significant amount. To be fair, it’s easily worth the full price, which is not something I often say.

Yeah, they took a shot at doing their pricing strategy backwards from everyone else. The game was cheapest when it was in early access and the cost has only gone up as they make the game bigger and better. I don’t think it has ever gone on sale, but is easily worth the full price.
