What are the chances this guy will actually go to jail for 2 years?

Seems a bit excessive for €100 in damages.

This is a funny nearly harmless prank and some form of formal documented disciplinary action would be understandable. Firing the guy and calling the cops… Na. Fuck the director and the people in charge of that place. They are what is wrong with this world.

Remember when people used to be able to take a good joke or prank (that doesn’t cause any physical damage or harm)? Nowadays it’s all lawsuits and “you hurt my fee-fees.”

I once did the refrigerator prank at work for April Fools. This prank involves switching the hinges of the doors but leaving the handles in the same spot. Thus, when someone goes to open the fridge, it won’t open unless you grab it from the non-handled side. I set it up the night before and watched as our CIO, a not-well-liked person, tried in vain to get her lunch into the fridge. Dejectedly, she went to her office and penned an email saying that whoever glued the fridge shut was a dead person.

      She wasn’t very bright.

Later on, after work, I switched everything back and never told a soul, lest I get fired for having a little harmless fun at a soul-sucking job. Now I don’t do anything, not even the classic post-it note on the mouse or screenshots of desktops set as wallpaper. Too many unjustifiably angry people out there.
