Do any Hondas have self driving? I have a pretty new civic and it only has lane assist, which I have stress tested and it absolutely requires hands on the wheel as it will not handle sharp turns. Also hugs the center line a bit more than I like.
I’m coming up on 90,000 miles with this system, and I would call it wonderful as long as you remember that you’re still the one responsible for the vehicle. Basically, just don’t be a Tesla driver with it.
Lane assist combined with adaptive cruise control pretty much means my Accord is driving itself to me, as its driver. I’ve only had problems with the lane assist when the sun is shining really bright on the road when it’s low in the sky (sunset and sunrise). I think it doesn’t “see” as well at those times of day.
Yes, I have to keep my hands on the wheel and pay attention - but every driver should anyway. There are so many crazy variables out there.

Why not add an aftermarket driver assist.

On highways it does well enough, but yeah when the road is reflecting it gets really sketchy. Also it gets finicky around truck shadows.
