I had access to a G35 with high rev engine and that was fun, but still felt like a boat stock. Swung a lot of upgrades like variable stiffness springs anti-sway bars, and cold air intake. Got most of the boat out. Even had to remap the ECU because it would throw a code with all the new air. Man, it was a great car after that. There were a lot of options for mods too if I recall.
Also had a RX-8 for a tad. Put a short intake on that, and got pulled over within a mile. Cops didn’t like it that loud. Put it back in the trunk where the previous owner had it stored and now I know why. That car drank premium like a Karen on a binge. Plus it was always breaking down. Had to get a $27 bolt from Mazda but couldn’t eat my pride. Got a hardened one from a hardware store for < $3. The check engine light came on for the smog pump and we had enough of that car. Traded it for a smashed up Honda. But at least it ran and passed smog.
I had a G35 coupe that I really liked, so much so I bought a G37 coupe five years later to replace it. Opted not to go for the steer by wire Q60 following that.
The Throttle House guys were entertaining as they always are :)
Just watched this earlier today. Great video. I had a track RX-8 and a friend has a street and track Genesis, but I’ve never driven the G35.
