btf, this is a debate even inside chinese society.
so yeah, this is a huge discussion throughout parties world wide, most people that i see claiming it is not are from sectarian lines like albanian line of enver hoxha of maoists (gonzalists).
here in brazil the fastest growing communist party follows albanian line, they consider china capitalist and imperialist, in the likes of usa.
the other party is split and doesn’t have a solid opinion on the matter, so its up to the individual member.
recently I’ve read an article by jones manoel (the guy from the quote) where he says he is not convinced that china is socialist but critizes heavily the level of the discussion itself, because no one does a deep analysis over a long duration period, people just spam out of place lenin quotes to refute that china is socialist.
