Between 1953 and the early 1970s, the CIA ran Project MKUltra, a secret program focused on mind control and behavioral experimentation. Using drugs like LSD, techniques like hypnosis, and extreme psychological pressure, the CIA tested on unwitting civilians, soldiers, and prisoners — often without consent.
Experiments were conducted in hospitals, prisons, and military facilities like Edgewood Arsenal. Much of the documentation was destroyed in 1973, leaving many questions about the program’s full extent unanswered.
I recently explored this topic in a video that looks at the historical background, what we know today, and how these experiments fit into the broader Cold War context.

Curious to hear others’ thoughts: How should we evaluate this kind of history — as science, ethics failure, or Cold War paranoia?
