Less crappy updates and adverts? Thanks God for that.
Knowing what these companies consider “features” these days, I’m glad.
Is it privacy or reliability?
I hope users in the EU will delay bringing money to Apple.
They will never replace my lovely CMF Phone 2.
When I got my original iPhone it wasn’t because it has more features than the competition - it was because it had less but better implemented.
Users who want features early already use Android
Are we supposed to shed a tear? The only thing I’m looking for is some alternative to my iPhone, even very basic and very feature-limited, preferably made in the EU, that would let me ditch that last piece of Apple tech I own… while still being able to easily access the banking and security apps I do need.
@Libb @Sunshine get the new #Fairphone with /e/OS
I’m not sure if they sell it for Canada?
@Sunshine I believe Murena is the only way to get one in Canada.
I have replacements lined up for when my apple devices kick the bucket.
Linux phones can’t come soon enough!
I am very tempted by a Jolla phone. Years ago I had a Nokia N9, and apparently they’ve done a good job of keeping the platform alive. It does have a yearly subscription for the OS which is a bit strange, but if it means my phone would last 10 years not 5 then I can get behind that

It’s takes a lot of effort to build from scratch, I’m okay with paying the developers to get the ball rolling. Though my biggest critique of Sailfish is that the ui isn’t Open-Source. Thankfully we have Nemomobile for that.
