Don’t let the incels see this. They’ll never let you hear the end of their “man-jaw” accusations.
I was hoping I could post this without someone making it about the toxic bullshit that some people can’t help but start up when it comes to Aloys appearance, but here you are.
Don’t act like the people making fun of the incels for poisoning that topic.
The topic itself is poison, and didn’t need bringing up.
Cool games are cool games, and cool art is cool art.
It was a joke. Do gool games and cool art prohibit these?
I was like you once, and still find myself getting baited into rage-commenting.
You perpetuate the things you hate by being unable to let go. This post wasn’t about incels but you just had to bring them up, souring the mood. Worst part is that it wasn’t even a good joke. We’re talking low hanging fruit to the point of picking up rotten fruit off the jungle floor.
Hatred is a lot like swallowing poison and expecting someone else to die. Treat yourself better.
Wow. What an arrogant thing to comment.
Next time, if you want people to read what you write, don’t start with “I was like you once” to an absolute stranger.
If you worry about people reflecting critically on your behavior, maybe don’t display it then lol
I don’t care if you’ve read what I wrote, keep swallowing that poison lil’ dude.
No.
But I can still tell you off for souring my mood by making one in bad taste.
You obviously had it on yopr mind before, so chill down.
I’m aware that some people get weird about how she looks. That in itself isn’t a problem. I just ignore that shit.
That’s not an option when someone makes a snarky comment about it on my post, in a community I moderate.
Or it was, ignoring it would have involved removing your comment and being done with it. But I’ve seen you around on Lemmy and decided you’re worth giving the benefit of the doubt.
Was I wrong?
Those same incels use the same excuse for misogynist hate. Don’t act like it being a joke absolves it of all consequences
The consequence of… making fun of incels and mentioning a topic that was on OP’s mind anyways?
on OP’s mind anyways?
What?
It’s cool game art and you brought up bad shit.
I hate that people make this Horizon’s legacy. It’s a great game, and I loved playing through it, it’s one of the very very few games I played through twice.
But apparently we can’t just appreciate some honestly pretty wicked concept art without turning it into the “Culture War™”.
I’ve only just started Forbidden West and I’m enjoying it so far, but it’s really off-putting that the main discord I hear is left-wingers complaining about incels complaining about Aloy’s face. Is there genuinely nothing more noteworthy about the game?
The in-game Aoly turned out better then this anime adjacent character who looks like the artist drew it one-handed.
I’m glad they went with the more realistic and less sexified version. Aloy is an absolute gem of a character, and having her be less of a normal person wouldn’t have fit nearly as well with the overall vibe.
(That said I’m not sure how to feel about the Lego version…)
She truly is the porrage of video game characters
This is hardly sexified. The game simply went photorealistic instead of stylized.
The only difference here IMO is a thinner build and cartoony cutesyness. The Aloy we got was given the prerequisite build of a rock-climber, and was definitely made more stoic in demeanor.
The armors are basically one to one.
You say stylized, but it’s the same thing. The posture on the right isn’t even possible for humans.
I stand by what I said tho, the realism did a lot more for the series than “stylized” would have.
Where did you get these? I’d love to see more. It’s interesting how much stayed the same for the final game
The official art book.
I will be posting more from it.
Thank you <3 I’m going to have to see about getting it for myself
Damn this artwork reminded me why I love this series. The armor design is so unique and well done. It’s so cool to wear the bones and skins of the beasts you slay but those bones and skin are just chunks of metal and wire. I’d love to see more!
