When a monster falls into the hole, I just pull the lever and crush the monster who steps in it.
EDIT:
Nice! Always love to see some personally engineered redstone contraptions!
If I may offer suggestions:
- You can increase the depth of the pit and line it with trapdoors so they’ll still pathfind in.
- You can use pressure plates for autonomous activation as suggested by other commenters
- If you have or can find some slime making the pistons sticky-pistons and having them move solid blocks should make the mechanism more dangerous to the mobs.
Make it two deep so they get stuck and make it automatic with pressure plates on the bottom.
This is the way
It still wont work, extended pistons are transparent blocks and dont do any suffocation damage
If it’s 2 blocks deep the mob’s Ai will make it go around the hole since there would be no path to the player through the hole.
I’m not even sure if this is a troll post, the zombie should be able to get out right ?
If this is Java edition, press f2 to take a screenshot
It’s bedrock, Redstone can’t be placed on pistons while they are extended in java
Looking at your keyboard wear, you must be the greatest backpeddler that ever lived
PS. Use the screenshot key combination next time instead of photographing your whole room just to show off something on your screen…
It’s possible to make this automated so you don’t need to manually flip it. The moat & pit works okay.
Gottem!! Thanks for including the 2nd pic.
Nice! I think the redstone dust on the pistons is not needed though, and will probably drop off when powered anyway.
It’s not necessary but it doesn’t drop when it’s on Bedrock edition

I’m glad to know this makes you happy. Happy is good. It is a clever solution.
