I don’t know what his mother feels about him now, but she used to have a drug problem, and JD was essentially kidnapped by his absolutely insane “meemaw” who raised him to be a good little conservative shitheel. She’s dead. According to Vance, after they went through her house postmortem, they found something like 16 loaded handguns secreted in various places.
