    Zizek, like Chomsky, is popular precisely because he helps metabolize radical politics into a form that the bourgeois hegemon likes. They allow him to gain mainstream appeal because he is no threat.

      not a Chomsky fan, but Chomsky is way better than Zizek. Chomsky at least puts himself in real world struggles. Chomsky is a great source of US Imperialist crimes and the struggle of Palestine. Zizek was all about being an edgy academic. I disliked Zizek for a long time, and hated him when Fidel died. Zizek appeared on RT and said Fidel should be forgotten from history and Cuba accomplished nothing.
