Tankies welcome

Feel free to share your educated and polite opinion.

Within reason, of course. The strict rules of MoG still apply, but so long as you are fair, respectful and truthful, you shouldn’t have to worry about these.

When arguing your points, try to aim for quality over quantity–no one will sift through Gish gallop. Try to keep your sources at 3 points. When sourcing your material, you should use MBFC and link sources with High-to-Very High in Factual Reporting.

Don’t be ashamed or cautious about linking your main account. It’ll allow others to see if you’re arguing in good faith.

You can insult others but expect to be insulted or banned in return. If you want to convince people, try to be polite and understanding and attempt to find an agreement before a disagreement.

Try to avoid voting. It muddies discussion. This goes for non-tankies too.

Follow the rules.

Some rules are leaner here. You still cannot justify atrocities, but you can celebrate and encourage good things that communist states have put forth, whether it’s art, technology, or sociological progress.

Just as a refresher of these rules:

Sh.itjust.works Instance rules apply! If you are from other instances, please be mindful of the rules.

Hate-Speech – You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.

Apologia – (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism or any variation of Tankie Ideology. There is no justifying Genocide.

Revisionism – Downplaying or denying atrocities past and present will result in an immediate ban.

Bans typically only last seven days, but repeat infractions will have longer sentences. You may ask to be unbanned.

So, please! Talk about your woes on our world and its diverse societies.

hey (:

(here’s a challenge, try to make your arguments without mentioning the US)

My understanding is that lemmy.world is largely mainstream liberal/neolib.

The latest big admin drama was discussing preemptively defederating from Hexbear, due to their politics and explicit intent to subvert and make converts.
