Anyone ever have white women saying that they struggle more than male poc’s? I’ve been hearing this more from white Guatemalans. They claim that they face more racism for having blonde hair and blue eyes. That nonwhite men have an advantage over them because we don’t face sexism like they do.
Guatemala does have a pretty bad sexism issue but white Guatemalans pretty much own the finance industry in Guatemala and you’ll find the whitest men and women at the executive levels while brown people are hired cleaners.
Radio DJ on a latino station straight up spreading anti-immigrant propaganda and then supposedly he opens up the phone line and he says “oh this isn’t a debate, I just want to hear opinions” and then all the callers are just agreeing with him anyway. Fucking hate gusanos.
I’ll do a brief drum solo after that (to revisit the theme of the intro), and then one more verse, pre-chorus, and chorus sequence, and then some outro of some sort.
Finally got to a point where I was able to sing through a whole song using unclean vocals and didn’t need to take a break.
Unfortunately, I didn’t record it yet, but this is a huge accomplishment because I used to feel weak as shit doing this even after just a single verse. This time, it felt incredibly easy, relaxed, and natural yet the growls still sounded fierce as fuck.
I did this so casually. I was just doing some dishes, and then I just randomly started singing the lyrics to “Pull the Plug” by Death. I sang the whole way through with my unclean technique.
I’ve been trying to practice my uncleans a lot more often because I felt like I was giving the cleans more love as of late, but I’m gonna practice both whenever I can!

They may have thought rabbits were safe but they aren’t. I watched watership down and thats far more gully than anything I’ve ever done
I decided to make the bridge a polyrhythmic breakdown kind of section.
The ambient guitar track in the background has a far more coherent rhythm, but the chugs on top are just… a bit all over the place, but it’s in a way that works.
I’m in love with this. I think I did a good job. I could imagine it going well with some melodic, non-word vocals that harmonize well with the ambience (things like humming and whatnot).

Absurd question but I just realized I have no idea how do I make other bipoc friends? Because almost all my friends are white and there’s things they don’t get. I live in a very white place but it’s a city and there’s tons of normal (non-cracker) people around, but a lot of them seem siloed in their own communities. I’ve never felt like I could go to cultural events for my ethnic group and don’t even know if there are any here because my parents are pretty assimilationist, I don’t speak the language, I don’t have a shared cultural background because I was raised very American.
I can’t get over that someone joked that I’m “Angel” when I sing my clean vocals but an alter-ego of mine named “Demon” comes out when I sing my unclean vocals.

I’m thinking to write a bridge that leads into a guitar solo and then go from there with one more verse/pre-chorus/chorus section. After that, some sort of outro will close out the song, and that will conclude track 8 out of 9!

I actually intend to see if I can get a full band going at some point and publish this for real.
My main issue right now is that I need some more musical equipment but won’t have the funds to get it until I get out of this unemployment shit. That’s what I’m looking forward to the most.
Since I’m clearly quite a prolific writer, I’d love to get music out at a King Gizzard rate, really.
I have a 4-string bass and have been practicing on that for now, but the songs I write are for when I get a 7-string bass. I intend to get a used one to keep it fairly cheap, especially since most companies are not regularly producing such a niche kind of instrument. Thankfully, my bass playing and vocals are improving a lot, and I’m starting to get the hang of singing and playing simultaneously!
The thing about U.S. media dominance is that you can’t escape its ideas even in places you consider to be apolitical or safe, I just saw a kitty page that I follow make a joke about the U.S. bombing Iran.
