If you sit and watch, if the lair is nearby then you will probably see a steady stream of wasps coming and going from the same direction.
But once you find the lair, working out how to do something about it without the “run” step might still be difficult.
Yeah this is the problem. I’m not seeing a stream of anyone and I’ve wandered all over the area. They’re Aussie paper wasps so normally their lairs are easier to spot from a distance than yellowjackets but the wasps themselves are harder.
If I can find it, they’re toast. The trick to killing wasps is to go out on a dark night, with all your skin covered, and suffocate them. No running required.
I’m imagining you sneaking up behind them and suffocating each one like in video games.
He heh! now I’m imagining using stealth archery against them with a tiny bow and some toothpicks.
