Crunch crunch moistness mmm.

I think the thing which ruines salads for me previously is how frequently raw onions and tomatoes get added to them. Now that I took salads without those, turns out I like them. Also, all of the salads I liked had a grain addition (grain eater, please, no, not my salads!) which I think adds a lot. Salads are very nice: as long as they’re more than just tomatoes, bitter leaves and raw onion slices - this is an abomination, idk why so many places sell this.

I’d formulate the ideal salad something like this:

  • green leaves (avoid too bitter ones) for green and crunch
  • sauce to moisturize it
  • a grain (the grains I had were white ones which don’t look or taste like rice - they were moist on their own and very pleasant to add)
  • non-veg addition: e.g. falafel balls, nuts (e.g. walnuts), tiny toast cubes (“croutons”), tiny cheese cubes

Most has to be veg, but the addition of else is mandatory, especially the grain. Texture is such an important part of eating.

Enjoy your salads. :3

Piece. The texture makes me gag and closes my throat. Maybe I could try swallowing a whole, unpeeled one. Ahaha

If you are not on any medication or prescriptions, would grapefruit work better instead? It’s more easily to fully peel the internal skin unlike an orange.

I have never tried. I’m worried about money waste. I literally had local anesthesia surgeries where the anesthesia didn’t work which were less traumatic than trying to swallow a piece of orange. Maybe I should try. Thanks for the suggestion.

If you’re not in any medication (grapefruit has chemical compounds that can render a lot of medications useless due to how they unintentionally affect your liver), then grapefruit is extremely economical as it lasts a long time, you can break the portions of a single one over multiple days, it’s delicious, and you can fully peel them.

          Hopefully this can help!

I just had my first grapefruit. It’s so revolutionary! You were indeed correct about how it can be actually completely peeled which allowed me to swallow it. :D Is there anything else which can be peeled as much? My grapefruit wasn’t very economical. it cost 1 euro and I ate the entire thing immediately. :|

I’m so happy you liked it! Grapefruit really are amazing!

That is a bit of a steep price though, the ones around me are usually around 1USD, which is something I bite the bullet on because they are an invaluable part of my diet and they are extremely healthy.

Sadly I cannot think of another citrus that can be peeled like that other then lemons, which ironically I do eat like grapefruit, but only because I have a tree in my yard and the lemons are incredibly sweet and not bitter because I let them fully ripen.

If I think of anything I’ll message you!

Please do not eat store bought lemons. You will destroy your enamel as they are not fully developed and the citric acid within them is to concentrated to safely consume like oranges. Plus it will be really bitter.

Same goes with limes. Plus limes are mostly used for garnish in drinks and food.

Easy to peel, but if you don’t like the skin on oranges then they might not be the best choice. It is possible to fully peel them, but they are tiny so the reward to time ratio isn’t extremely great, and it might be a bit hard.

                  Worth a shot at least!

I highly recommend that you get a seedless variety. Tangerines or mandarin oranges with seeds are hellish to me.
