I made this meme a few years ago and posted it to reddit. It immediately got gold and then barely any upvotes. I’ve always wanted to find a place to repost it, because it’s a joke I’m proud of.
I feel like it should be Godfrey, not Godrick" but otberwise… lol.
I don’t think I get it. Care to explain it to me? :c
Thanks for posting though!
“Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret.” is a popular coming-of-age novel for young girls.
According to Wikipedia:
This contemporary realistic novel was popular with middle-grade readers in the 1970s for its relatable portrayal of a young girl confronting early-adolescent anxieties, such as menstruation, puberty, bras, and boys.
What I’ve done here is add two associated Elden Ring characters, Godrick and Margit, to the cover, because their names are similar to “God” and “Margaret”.
Inserting these Dark Fantasy monsters into a coming-of-age story about puberty is absurd, because Elden Ring couldn’t possibly be more dissimilar to Judy Blume’s work in both content and tone. The humor comes from that absurdity.
Thanks for the very thorough explanation :D
Foul Tarnished… nice work!
