Its not a stud, just a piece of fiber board screwed into place. Likely to be used as backing for a patch that never came. I’d just unscrew it and then swap to a double gang after cleaning up the hole
Yup, it’s impressive how bad it is. It’s almost more work to be this bad lol. Its even worse if you notice that they didn’t cover up the coax ports to paint, so it’s entirely clogged up. If I wanted to use them, I would need to cut and re-terminate it.
Yup it’s just a backer board there. Easy enough to remove to switch to a double gang, but also easy ish to clean up and patch it, if I don’t texture
That looks like an easy option. Might not even have to remove the backer if it lines up right. We are planning on running ethernet but not here. It’s the corner of the dining room so it would be useless
Thanks for the advice! I imagine I’ll get a better idea on what to scrap and start over after a few fixes. But I’ll try and keep this in mind when planning. And double thanks for the channel recommendations! Looks like a lot of good content to binge :)
I suppose you’re right. Plus there will be more content on Lemmy which is always good! Thanks!
Assuming your smart TV is android, project ivy is my favorite.
This post made me try again to find a solution, and maybe a USB extension cord with a on/off switch could work. It’s not automated but would be more convenient than removing the dongle each time. I’m thinking something like this
I have this exact same problem, but with a Chevy bolt. Some cars USB ports are “always on” and some aren’t. Might be worth trying different ones and see if there’s a port that doesn’t power on randomly. This didn’t work on my car, but it’s a common solution I came across when I was trying to figure it out. For now, I’ve just reverted back to wired AA.
They should use Lithium Iron batteries for a real LiFe pro tip
The yacht was a bad example. What I’m getting at is that not hating something is not the same as supporting it. I don’t support Dave doing this, but I don’t hate him for doing it either.
Yeah, I can see how it could be seen that way. I’m thinking more along the lines of “Dave performs for money. Someone wants to pay a lot of money for a special performance, and it doesn’t affect any of his other shows so of course he would do it”. IMO what Dave did isn’t unethical, but I can see how it could be seen that way. But I also think if the article was “Amazon Execs bought a multi million dollar yacht after massive layoffs”, no one would be blaming the yacht manufacturer. Just the execs.
Eh, all he did was accept money to do exactly what he does: play a concert. Now if he canceled other concerts just for this, that would be a different story IMO. The Amazon execs would just buy a yacht or something instead if Dave declined.
Apparently there’s only 10 or so Vaquita’s left now. :( https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/vaquita
Nah, its just a cheap “marble” laminate countertop I use for a desk. Can’t convince myself to get a nice wood one when this holds up and looks decent
“Problem” is probably a stretch lol. It just looked sloppy before IMO
I’m the same, those dongles don’t last, and are annoying to use. I picked up one of these cables from aliexpress to use with my iems and it works a treat. There’s better quality cables out there, but for 10 bucks these are solid.
Thanks for the advice! I agree, the best training would involve us which is one reason why I’m hesitant on board & train. But he’s stagnated for a while on his current training plan, so trying to find new options.
We’re well prepared to actually follow training plans following up. We’ve been consistent with our current one for 2 years. We’re just looking for other options since his progress has stagnated, even though he has progressed a ton (like we can actually go to a park, and he will be happy and relaxed now). Not against negative training, we’re only going off of what our current trainer tells us, which is “Since its fear based aggression, the best way to correct it is to use positive reinforcement so that he learns that people and other dogs are good things”. Thanks for sharing your experience! I think we’ll set up a consultation with this new trainer and see.
Woah, those are pricey but exactly what I’m looking for! I might have to bite the bullet and pick them up. Thanks!
