I’ve always previously used the strategy of transmuting ‘easy’ +10 artifacts (like Horn of Plenty) to gamble for another, better +10, such as Chalice of Blood. I don’t believe I’ve never seen a +10 transmuted artifact give a +0 artifact in return.
My favourite runs always involve Ring of Wealth.

That looked like a great build. Like you said Chains and Hourglass should have made for a safer ascent. The ‘I was so close’ feeling is part of what makes this game addictive, and you looked so close!
