In my town, a sheriff deputy was sworn in and fired later in the same day for stalking and trying to use his position to solicit nude photos from an underage high school student. I think we win the terrible judgement contest.

Republicans are all about controlling what other people can and cannot do. Throw some evangelical “morality” on top of that and now a fetus is sacred and sex is sinful.

He is an old, overweight man who eats too many hamberders to last forever.

It is even more terrifying to think he is next in line to be president and Trump appears to be not long for this world.

I get what you’re saying, but I’ve lived my entire life in Florida and I’ve never been a supporter of conservative policies. I didn’t vote for climate change and I’m certainly not in support of of repealing policies to at least slow it down. Me and my family are going to suffer from this just the same. I understand you want to feel the joy at the suffering of climate change deniers, but there’s a lot of people here who don’t deserve what we’re going to get. A lot of us may not have the ability to just leave and go elsewhere and are going to suffer anyway. Unfortunately, the people who most deserve what they get have enough money to escape it and aren’t going to suffer the consequences.

Hell, they’ll elect the antichrist to prove it.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of Trump voters believe they were voting for a better economy when not only is the opposite true, it is bundled with so many more negative features. These voters deserve every negative thing that is about to happen to them. “I didn’t think they were going to eat my face!” Unfortunately, the rest of us are going to get caught up in this as well.

I’d love to see how they spin that to blame it on the Dems.

My concern is that Trump is defeated in the election, declared is stolen, and we do react within the law to fight it, but Trump is declared President by the House of Representatives and the Supreme Court anyway. Once Project 2025 starts rolling out as policy, how many of us are then willing to start reacting outside of the new law? Most Germans were not fervent supporters of the Nazi party. They just didn’t want to get in trouble with the ruling government. Are you willing to risk your life to fight the fascists? Are you willing to risk the lives of your family? Or do you learn to survive with your head down and not make waves…

Not calling anyone out for anything, but I often have to wonder about how I would react now that it keeps getting closer to reality.

Unfortunately, politics is teams sports in this country. Too many people are concerned with their side winning rather than what is best for the country or even for themselves. The propaganda machine has pushed people to support a small subset of issues as the biggest issues and these are often not the issues that actually have any impact on the day-to-day lives of most Americans. Critical thinking is not part of the discourse anymore for a large percentage, just rhetoric and slogans.

I cannot wait until my state gets its head out of its collective ass. I’d like to think DeSantis and his band of clowns are willfully acting this way as a way to turn the state from right to left as some sort of embedded counter-operatives, but if that was the case, they are doing worse than poorly and actually driving it into idiocy because the trashass tools are eating this shit up. I’m almost hoping for climate change to start taking some of us out so I have an excuse to get the fuck out of here.
