  • I know exactly what you mean. I never cared about my karma BUT old timer accounts with a lot of karma (I think I only had like 180k) shows that they’re active. Don’t you want activity?

How many of the people here are from the earlier Reddit era? Maybe that’s why it’s got a different vibe. Reddit’s actually banning the people that have conversations and create content with opinions and arguments. Constructive or not.

I know personally, I feel like a post is engaging when I go in and there are Zero comments. /s

    Anyway, fuck you Spez.

  • I had my account of 12 years permabanned a few days ago. Never had an issue ever before the other day.

Wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary.

Reddit wants each sub to be an echo chamber of repeated comments, they basically want to be 2013 Imgur.

Viewing the post and scrolling is the level of engagement that matters to them. That alone generates revenue. Comments better fall in line

At least that’s my two cents. I’m a Reddit Renegade not an admin

  • Yeah I mean I get what they are trying to say. They don’t want to be lumped by that association. They don’t want that commonality I guess.

For instance I’m a recovering alcoholic. I’ll always be an alcoholic, I just don’t adhere to those thoughts.

It’d be weird of me to get upset if they started calling trump an alcoholic. It doesn’t change my situation and I can still choose to not drink.

Calling someone else an alcoholic doesn’t make the world think of me

I can’t say I agree with their stance.
